PGY1 Pharmacy Residency: Albany

Community/Teaching Hospital

Program Goals
The primary goals of Phoebe’s residency program are to train pharmaceutical care generalists and develop future leaders in the practice of pharmacy. Phoebe offers a broad based, in-depth experience designed to develop competent and caring pharmacy practitioners.

Program Structure
Core experiences of the program consist of the following:

  • Orientation
  • Adult Critical Care
  • Hematology/Oncology
  • Neonatal Intensive Care/Pediatrics
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Internal Medicine I and II
  • Informatics and Technology 
  • Ambulatory Care (one of three choices)
    • Home Infusion
    • Outpatient Anticoagulation Clinic
    • Outpatient Oncology

Elective rotations are available in Psychiatry, Geriatrics, or further experiences in any of the core rotations. Other electives may also be arranged at the University of Georgia residency sites around the state.

Degree Requirement
Pharm.D., M.S., or equivalent experience
Eligible for Georgia licensure

Estimated Stipend
$45,000

Application Process and Materials

Applicants must have a Pharm.D. or M.S. degree or equivalent experience and must be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Georgia.

Applications will be accepted on PHORCAS (https://portal.phorcas.org/) until January 20th.  Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications early to facilitate scheduling of the on-site interview. 

All application materials listed below are required to complete the PhORCAS application process:

  • Completed application form: Pharmacy Practice Application
  • Letter of Intent
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Transcripts from all Colleges of Pharmacy attended
  • Copy of valid pharmacy intern license or pharmacist license
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation from clinical practitioners who can evaluate your skills.  Letters must be uploaded on PhORCAS by each individual reference
