PGY2 Oncology Residency: Augusta

Program Description

The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and the Augusta University (AU) Medical Center provide a 12-month ASHP Accredited PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency program. Residents are enrolled as graduate assistants for the College of Pharmacy and The University of Georgia Graduate School awards a graduate certificate for successful completion of the residency program. This post-graduate experience provides comprehensive training in many areas of oncology pharmacy. The flexibility of the program allows residents to individualize the residency to meet their specific needs and interests. The residency practice sites are the 478 bed AU Medical Cancer and the Georgia Cancer Center located in Augusta, GA. The hospital is a national leader in patient and family-centered care.

The Cancer Center serves as the area’s only regional outpatient adult cancer treatment center specializing in bone marrow transplantation, inpatient hematology, medical oncology, gynecological malignancies, and pediatric oncology. Residents provide oncology clinical pharmacy services in a variety of areas throughout the year. Residents also participate in patient-care area pharmacy coverage, assist in the teaching and training of Pharm.D. students, and are responsible for completing a research project suitable for publication in a professional journal.

Application Process and Materials

Successful candidates for the PGY2 Oncology Residency must have completed a PGY1 Certificate of Residency and be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Georgia.

Applications will be accepted on PhORCAS (https://portal.phorcas.org/) until January 5th.  Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications early to facilitate scheduling of the on-site interview.
